How It Works
1. Snap & Set Total: Take or upload a grocery photo and enter what you paid at checkout (in USD).
2. Share the Link or Card: Get a unique unlisted challenge link (
/c/<id>) and an optional 4:5 image card with a scannable QR code.3. Friends Guess First: Friends open the link, inspect the photo, and lock in their dollar guess. The real answer is kept server-side and never sent in the page.
4. Reveal & Compare: Submitting a guess reveals the actual register total, the exact difference, and an accuracy reaction.
Rules & Limits
- One photo per challenge: JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 10 MB before browser compression (compressed to max 1600px and under 900 KB).
- Price range: $0.01 to $9,999.99, stored as integer cents in Cloudflare D1.
- No accounts or tracking: No user registration, passwords, leaderboards, payments, or third-party ad pixels.
- Friendly estimation: Built purely for entertainment and social guesses, not professional financial advice or itemized expense accounting.
Photo Guidelines
To keep challenges fun and respectful of privacy, ensure your grocery photo focuses solely on items purchased. Avoid photos containing visible faces, store receipts with payment card digits, home addresses, or personal identifiable documents. Anyone with the challenge link can view the photo.
